COVID-19’s Impact on the Indian Tourism and Hospitality Industry

In India, the central government and state governments have announced separate tourism plans and strategies aimed at increasing job opportunities and development in the tourism and hospitality sectors and fostering economic integration and linkage with other industries. Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Kerala, Gujarat, and MP have developed tourism systems that enable the industry to grow. According to reports, the proposal to include on the concurrent list was given to state governments and considered during the Chief Ministers’ Conference. A majority approved the idea of the states.
